Jurgan Kalta was a Zabrak mercenary active during the years before the Jedi Civil War. He enjoyed inflicting great pain upon his victims and was known for his abilities of adaptation. He designed several blaster weapons, including a carbine which he described as "amusingly destructive," but his favorite was his custom assault rifle, which shared his adaptability. Kalta also wore a power suit which made him near-invulnerable in battle. He was eventually assassinated with the placement of a gaxxan brain-slug on his pillow. By 3,956 BBY, Kalta's assault rifle was available for purchase from the Aratech Mercantile general store owned by Crattis Yurkal on Dantooine, while his carbine had fallen into the possession of Fazza Utral on Tatooine and his power suit was available for purchase to special clients from Mika Dorin, manager of The Drunk Side cantina in Dreshdae, Korriban.

Jurgan Kalta is mentioned in the video game Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic in the descriptions of his weapons, which are available for purchase by the player. The Carbine costs 4,500 credits, the Assault Rifle is 8,000 and the power suit for 15,000 credits.
