The Kashnir Arms KX-60 Blaster Rifle was a standard blaster rifle in service in many planetary militias as well as some police forces. After the first few clashes between Imperial and Rebel Alliance forces, it became apparent that a rather large number of these weapons had found their way into Alliance hands. A short time after, all factories producing these weapons were shut down by agents of the Imperial Security Bureau, and all manufacturing equipment was lifted offplanet. It was likely, however, that these plants were opened up once more in secret locations beyond Imperial domain in order to arm the Rebel Alliance.
