The vessel was a heavily modified EF76 Nebulon-B escort frigate.[1] The vessel was enlarged to accommodate several hangars in the vessel's midsection.[2]

The vessel was stationed in orbit of Etti IV in the early parts of the Civil War.[1] Three months after the Battle of Yavin, Deena Shan was stationed onboard as a mechanic.[2]
