Kanz sector was located in the Outer Rim Territories. During the Old Sith Wars, Republic Provisional Governor Myrial of Argazda established a military regime throughout the Kanz sector. Her military forces invaded planets that resisted her reign over the Kanz sector including Lorrd during a conflict known as the Kanz Disorders. She often enslaved their inhabitants, most notably the Lorrdians of Lorrd. The Lorrdian captives, forbidden by their masters from speaking aloud, developed a form of nonverbal communication which is still in use in the current era. The Kanz sector would secede from the Republic and exist as a totalitarian state for three centuries until the Jedi Order toppled the dictatorship in 3,670 BBY. However, by then, more than 5 billion had been killed.
During the Clone Wars, Kanz was represented in the Galactic Senate by Nee Alavar.[1]
