Kathy Smee

From Wookieepedia, the Star Wars wiki.

Katherine Smee was a puppeteer who worked on Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace.

As a puppeteer for the Jim Henson's Creature Shop, Smee began working in the 1998 movie Lost in Space. There, she was to manage alien pet Blawp, alongside other puppeteers such as David Alan Barclay, Wim Booth, Patrick Comerford, Sue Dacre, Peter Hurst, Gillie Robic and Michelan Sisti. She also performed many characters for Jim Henson's Animal Show which ran from 1994-1997.

Probably impressed by her work, star puppeteer Frank Oz called her to be one of his assistants in his new work for Star Wars. Oz was once again cast to play the charismatic Jedi Master Yoda for Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace, and he needed two additional puppeteers. Alongside more experienced Don Austen and David Greenaway, Smee was selected for the job.

After the job, Smee became a voice actress for the TV series You Do Too in 2002, and became a puppeteer again for 2005's The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.
