Katherine Smee is a puppeteer who worked on Star Wars: Episode I The Phantom Menace.

As a puppeteer for the Jim Henson's Creature Shop, Smee began working first in Jim Henson's Animal show, then in the 1998 movie Lost in Space. There, she was to manage alien pet Blawp, alongside other puppeteers such as David Alan Barclay, Wim Booth, Patrick Comerford, Sue Dacre, Peter Hurst, Gillie Robic and Michelan Sisti. She also performed many characters for Jim Henson's Animal Show which ran from 1994-1997.

Probably impressed by her work, star puppeteer Frank Oz called her to be one of his assistants in his new work for Star Wars. Oz was once again cast to play the charismatic Jedi Master Yoda for Star Wars: Episode I The Phantom Menace, and he needed two additional puppeteers. Alongside more experienced Don Austen and David Greenaway, Smee was selected for the job.

After the job, Smee became a voice actress for 2005's The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy the TV series and became a puppeteer again for Nickelodeon's You Do Too, and the BBC kids' series, Fab Lab and Tikkabilla in 2002
