Kauronian
Talk2this wiki
The Kauronians were a sentient species[1] native to the planet Kauron in the Meram sector of the Outer Rim Territories.[2][3] In 0 BBY, a number of Kauronian bounty hunters were present on Tatooine and were witnessed by Rodian bounty hunter Greedo entering Chalmun's Spaceport Cantina in Mos Eisley.[1] By 19 ABY, an asteroid belt in the Kauronian's home system hosted the Cavrilhu Pirates; however, the pirates destroyed the base that year using a self-destruct mechanism after it was infiltrated by Jedi Master Luke Skywalker.[4]
Behind the scenes
Edit
Tom and Martha Veitch created the Kauronians for the short story A Hunter's Fate: Greedo's Tale, published by Bantam Spectra in 1995 as part of the anthology Tales from the Mos Eisley Cantina. This story was later illustrated as the webstrip A Hunter's Fate: Greedo's Tale; however, no unidentified alien species appear in the background of the cantina scenes. The Kauronian star system later appeared in Timothy Zahn's novel Specter of the Past, published by Bantam Spectra in 1997, and was placed by Jason Fry and Daniel Wallace in The Essential Atlas, published by Del Rey in 2009.
