Kavaavik was a Yuuzhan Vong creature, native to Yuuzhan'tar, that evolved to live underground. When worn over the head of a Yuuzhan Vong warrior, the creature enabled the wearer to see in the dark.

It is unknown what became of the Kavaavik after the war ended; though it can be assumed they were transplanted on Zonama Sekot where they would have joined the tampasi.
