[edit] Biography
Halcyon was famous for his efforts in Corellia, and especially for halting the rampaging Selonian Afarathu cult in 380 BBY. Some of his descendants, such as Nejaa Halcyon and Nejaa's grandson Corran Horn, would become famous Jedi in their own right.
In 11 ABY, Corran took Keiran's name as an alias during his brief enrollment at Luke Skywalker's Jedi Praxeum on Yavin 4. He would later return to the Academy under his real name.
The Halcyon family was known to be weak in telekinetic Force powers, such as Force Jump, unless they channeled absorbed energy. Instead, they did other things to enhance their combat prowess with the lightsaber. They did however have two rare Force talents, that of alter mind and absorb energy. Like Nejaa Halcyon, Keiran used a silver-bladed lightsaber, the silver coming from the unusual inclusion of a Durindfire gem. Keiran's lightsaber had the ability to go up to 3 meters in length when needed.
[edit] Behind the scenes
The Jedi Academy Training Manual mistakenly states that Keiran lived in the same era as Luke Skywalker, and was even his student for a brief time, while he in fact lived 200 years prior to Luke Skywalker's birth.
This is likely due to a retcon from the book I, Jedi, where it is revealed that the Keiran Halcyon that appeared in the Jedi Academy Trilogy was actually Corran Horn, a distant descendant of the original Halcyon. Horn used the alias upon Skywalker's suggestion, so that it would not become public knowledge that he was training as a Jedi.
