The Keldabe anchoring bend was a distinctive and complex knot used to fasten or attach objects. Unique to the Mandalorian culture,[1] the knot's design was named for the city of Keldabe, the traditional capital of the planet Mandalore,[2] and the knowledge of how to tie the Keldabe anchoring bend was primarily restricted to Mandalorians. However, the clone troopers of the Grand Army of the Republic were also familiar with the Keldabe anchoring bend, due to the influences of their Mandalorian progenitor, Jango Fett, and the Mandalorian training sergeants of the Cuy'val Dar.[1]

Behind the scenesEdit

The Keldabe anchoring bend first appeared in Star Wars canon in the third entry in the Republic Commando series of novels. Entitled True Colors, the novel was authored by Karen Traviss and published October 30, 2007.
