Kemp Remillard is a senior concept artist working for Massive Black Inc., a digital art and illustration studio in San Francisco.[1]


In his youth, Kemp Remillard received training in art, and in 2002-03, went on to study graphic design at the University of Georgia in Athens, Georgia.[1]

After graduating in 2004, and wanting to pursue a career in art, Remillard eventually got a job working as a Junior Artist on the PlayStation 3 launch title Lair with Factor 5. After this brief introduction to the digital entertainment industry, he decided to join Massive Black Inc.[1]

Remillard is best known for his concept work for Hasbro properties including G.I.Joe and Transformers, the tanks in Red Faction: Guerrilla, the dropship in Killzone 2, some of the tanks in EVE: DUST 514, the 300i in Star Citizen, and for editing and directing Massive Black: Vol 1 & 2.[1]

In 2015, Remillard illustrated the entirety of Star Wars: The Force Awakens: Incredible Cross-Sections and described it as one of the coolest projects he has worked on.[1]

In 2016, Remillard illustrated Star Wars: Complete Locations, the canon re-issue of the 2005 reference book of the same name.[4]
