This hut was the home of the Jedi Kento Marek and his son, Galen, located on the Wookiee homeworld of Kashyyyk. During the Imperial invasion of the planet, Kento Marek was killed in the hut by Darth Vader, who also kidnapped his son to raise as his own secret apprentice.

Many years later, Galen Marek returned to Kashyyyk, and found the hut. Stepping inside, he had a vision of the events surrounding his father's death.

Shortly after, a group of dissident senators, including Bail Prestor Organa, Mon Mothma, and Garm Bel Iblis, regrouped in the hut after escaping from the first Death Star. Inside, they formalized the creation of the Alliance to Restore the Republic, taking the Marek family crest as their insignia.
