Keska' Cay was a male Ualaq Aqualish assassin who lived on the planet Tatooine during the time of the Galactic Civil War. After the Battle of Yavin, Keska' Cay worked for the Hutt crime lord Jabba Desilijic Tiure.[2] In 1 ABY,[1] a member of the Valarian Syndicate named Una betrayed Lady Valarian and sold information to Jabba the Hutt. Una informed the Hutt about one of Valarian's gun running operations so Jabba used the lunatic killer Keska' Cay to assassinate one of the pilots running that operation. In retaliation, Lady Valarian later tasked a spacer with killing Una and Keska' Cay.[2]
Behind the scenes[]
Keska' Cay was a cut non-player character (NPC) in the 2003 video game Star Wars Galaxies: An Empire Divided, a massively multiplayer online roleplaying game developed by Sony Online Entertainment and published by LucasArts,[2] prior to its closure on December 15, 2011.[4]
Keska' Cay was intended to be part of the cancelled Valarian Themepark. This questline was initially planned to be introduced in the game with the "Publish 23" to replace the original "Valarian Quest Series."[5] Although the old "Valarian Quest Series" was deactivated with the release of Publish 23 on August 31, 2005,[6] the new Themepark was never activated.[7] Several NPCs of the Valarian Theme Park were implemented into the game but Keska' Cay was not known to have appeared on the live servers.[8] Unused game files pertaining to this questline indicated that Keska' Cay was intended to be part of a new quest named "Fencing."[9] An emulated depiction pulled from this character's Interchange File Format revealed what he would have looked like.[10]

Notes and references[]
- ↑ 1.0 1.1 According to its opening crawl, Star Wars Galaxies was set sometime after Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope. The only precise time indication in the game was given by the character Ruwan Tokai, who referenced the destruction of the Death Star at the Battle of Yavin as occurring one year earlier, placing the game sometime around 1 ABY. Later, multiple elements confirmed the placement of the game storyline in 1 ABY. First, The Essential Reader's Companion established that the tie-in novel Star Wars Galaxies: The Ruins of Dantooine took place in 1 ABY. Furthermore, the game expansion Star Wars Galaxies: Rage of the Wookiees was set during the Blockade of Kashyyyk, one year after the Battle of Yavin according to The Star Wars Holiday Special. Additionally, the main scenario of The Nightsister's Revenge from the Star Wars Galaxies Trading Card Game was set over a year before the Battle of Hoth (3 ABY), so around 1.5 ABY. Finally, the reference book Strongholds of Resistance placed the events of Star Wars Galaxies's Chapter 9: "The Fury of Exar Kun" one year after the Battle of Yavin. Of note, Galaxies's Chapter 11: "The Battle of Echo Base" introduced the Battle of Hoth in the game. However, the developers were quite clear that this was only intended to be a completely isolated "Star Wars Moment" without any effect on continuity for the rest of the game.
