Kiefer was an Imperial Army lieutenant belonging to the faction loyal to Darth Krayt. He was stationed on Bastion in 137 ABY when Emperor Roan Fel returned to reclaim the planet. Kiefer ordered Fel to surrender. However, to his dismay, his soldiers submitted to the returning monarch. When he drew a pistol on Fel, he was shot by stormtroopers of the 501st Legion under orders of General Oron Jaeger.
