Kin Kimdyara was a male Human scientist. He had a habit of naming a new creature after another known one based on similar characteristics, then changing the name to something different. One creature he did this with was the long-necked gundark of Kharzet III. He found that the long-necked gundark had a foul temper reminiscent of the true gundark, though the two species were entirely unrelated, and had a completely different appearance.
However, Kimdyara died just days after recording his observations, and no later notes which may have given the species an individual name were ever recovered, leaving the creatures with the name "long-necked gundark".
