Klatooinians were a species native to the planet Klatooine, who often worked as henchmen and bounty hunters. Klatooinians possessed a strong physique that led many of them to work in the criminal underworld. Some Klatooinians included Barada and Kithaba, who both worked for Jabba Desilijic Tiure.

Klatooinians were a sentient humanoid species from the planet Klatooine[3] in the Outer Rim Territories.[4] Klatooinians were common throughout the galaxy. They were distinguishable through their prominent brows and visible teeth. Klatooinians possessed a strong build, which made them useful laborers.[3] Klatooinians' skin color ranged from green to brown,[1] and they had green blood.[5] Their natural habitat was a desert or wasteland.[2] Klatooinians could also be force-sensitive.[3]

Klatooinians in the galaxy[]

Their strong build and menacing appearance drew many Klatooinians to work in the underworld as bounty hunters, henchmen, and bodyguards. Many Klatooinians were also sold into slavery due to their skills as laborers.[3] Tarados Gon was a force-sensitive Klatooinian who joined the Jedi Order.[3]

Castas was a male Klatooinian bounty-hunter who was active during the Clone Wars.[6] Multiple Klatooinians worked for crime lord Jabba Desilijic Tiure, including Barada and Kithaba who both died during the Rescue of Han Solo at the Great Pit of Carkoon.[7]

In 9 BBY,[8] Klatooinian twins Koob and Lizz were part of the Stinger Mantis crew, led by Jedi Knight Cal Kestis, under the directive of anti-Imperial freedom fighter Saw Gerrera. The twins helped Kestis access Imperial intelligence on the yacht of Imperial Senator Daho Sejan, disguising themselves as Coruscant Security Forces to trick the senator. Although the mission in the Coruscant Underworld was successful, the rebel crew was ambushed by the Ninth Sister of the Inquisitorius, who killed the senator. Koob and Lizz attempted to fight the Dowutin Inquisitor, but were killed in the chaos.[9]

After the fall of the Galactic Empire, in 9 ABY,[10] a Klatooinian raider led a tribe on the swamp planet Sorgan. The tribe repurposed an AT-ST walker and attacked a remote village several times before being defeated by the combined effort of Mandalorian bounty hunter Din Djarin, former rebel shock trooper Cara Dune, and the villagers during a skirmish on Sorgan.[11]

Don-Klatoo

The Klatoonian Don negotiating with Boba Fett

The Klatooinian family operated in the city of Mos Espa on the desert planet Tatooine. After Jabba the Hutt died during the sail barge disaster[12] in 4 ABY[13], his majordomo,[14] Bib Fortuna, claimed the Hutt's throne, prompting the Klatooinian[12] don[15] to quickly split his family from Jabba's criminal empire.[12] The Klatooinians gained control of the spaceport and upper sprawl.[16] In 9 ABY,[17] the Klatooinian family, Trandoshan family, and Aqualish family joined an alliance with Daimyo Boba Fett's gotra, agreeing to stay neutral in the upcoming war against the Pyke Syndicate.[12] The Klatooinian family later betrayed the gotra and forced two Gamorrean guards off the edge of a cliff, killing them. The don was later assassinated by[18] Master Assassin[19] Fennec Shand, and the rest of the family submitted to the Fett Gotra.[18]

In 34 ABY,[20] the Klatooinian Bolza Grool sold gorgs on the Colossus,[21] a supertanker fuel depot on the ocean planet Castilon.[22]

Behind the scenes[]

Skelly, a human character from A New Dawn, was originally conceived as a Klatooinian. Despite this, author John Jackson Miller felt that he had an appearance that was somewhat Klatooinian.[23] Skelly had a Klatooinian prosthetic right hand.[24]
