The Kliap sector was located in the Colonies,[1] bordering the Barma sector.[2] It contained the Vasuuli system,[1] which was the site of[3] the Vasuuli relay station, a communications center operated by the Rebel Alliance.[2]

The Rebel comm center located on Barma sector's asteroid AX-456 linked up with similar comm centers in the adjacent Kliap and Haldeen sectors. When AX-456 was assaulted by the military forces of the Galactic Empire[2] in 1 BBY,[4] the Rebellion scrambled a strike team from the Vasuuli relay station and dispatched it to the asteroid.[2]

At some point by 2 ABY,[5] the pair of Ithorian pirates known as the Venithon Twins worked for the Kliap Pirates, a notorious pirate gang known for carrying out flashy raids in the Kliap sector.[6]

Behind the scenes[]

The Kliap sector was first mentioned in Alliance Intelligence Reports, a 1995 sourcebook for West End Games' Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game.[6]

(backup link) Jason Fry, co-author of The Essential Atlas, stated his intention to create homeworlds for numerous species based on context implied from their names. Given this principle, this article makes a similar basic assumption for the Vasuuli relay station in relation to the Vasuuli system.
