The Klytonians were a sentient species[1] originating in the Klytonia system of the Outer Rim Territories' Bheriz sector.[2] Their bodies were covered with leathery scales, which produced electric field vibrations that allowed them to communicate with each other.[1]

In 0 BBY,[4] multiple Klytonians were present at Chalmun's Spaceport Cantina in the Mos Eisley settlement on[1] the Arkanis sector planet[5] Tatooine. The Klytonians communicated with each other across the room they were in.[1]

Behind the scenes[]

The Klytonians were created by John Chesterman for "Cantina Communications," a one-page vignette included in Star Wars Official Poster Monthly 16,[1] published in 1979[6] by Paradise Press.[1]

(backup link) Jason Fry, co-author of The Essential Atlas, stated his intention to create homeworlds for numerous species based on context implied from their names. This article treats the Klytonia system as the location of one such homeworld with regard to the Klytonian species.
