Knobblypears were a species of edible fruit that grew on Despayre,^[1] a penal world in the Atrivis sector of the Outer Rim Territories.^[2] The fruit was boiled by the prisoners working on the surface of Despayre and contributed to their minimal diet. All of the knobblypear plants on Despayre perished with the destruction of the planet by the first Death Star that occurred in 0 BBY.^[1]

The knobblypear was created by Michael Reaves and Steve Perry in their novel Death Star, published by Del Rey in 2007.
