The Knytix was a non-sentient mantid from Thyferra that the Vratix employed in a number of capacities. They were said to make excellent pets and soup, and their saliva was used in the construction of Vratix buildings. Iella Wessiri found this an odd custom on her visit to a verachen village, but accepted it as one of the very many cultures of the diverse galaxy.
