This small dagger-shaped capital ship was a pre-Clone Wars design.[1] It had a dagger-shaped hull, a feature that was common to warships from many shipyards, including Kuat Drive Yards, Rendili StarDrive and Sienar Fleet Systems, and would later become associated with the forces of the Grand Army of the Republic and Galactic Empire.

History
Edit

Ships of this kind participated in a vicious air battle taking place above a spaceport on an unknown world, some years before 32 BBY.[1]
They had an arrow-shaped command tower, and a long, narrow "tail" section protruding from the stern, which may have housed a hyperdrive generator.[1] Both these features would later be paralleled on the Acclamator-class assault ship and Venator-class attack cruiser of the Clone Wars.
The armament included two large cannons mounted on top of the fuselage, with exposed engine parts underneath them. There was also a smaller twin-barreled cannon in between these large guns, and numerous turreted guns in the trench areas and on either side of the vessel.[1]
Behind the scenes
Edit
Some fans believe that dagger-shaped warships are specifically associated with Kuat Drive Yards, but this is fanon. Non-KDY warships such as the Victory-class Star Destroyer and Vindicator-class heavy cruiser make use of the same hull type, while important Kuati designs include many non-dagger warships, such as the EF76 Nebulon-B escort frigate and Star Galleon-class frigate.
This capital ship's arrowhead command tower and protruding rear section are closely paralleled on Clone Wars-era cruisers from KDY and their Rothana Heavy Engineering subsidiary, but these details are not explicitly diagnostic of KDY designs.
