Kubaz xirkonia was a type of mineral that was used in the creation of fake diamonds.

The name is spelled "xirkonia" in Mara Jade: By the Emperor's Hand and "xurkonia" in I, Jedi. Both sources were authored by Michael A. Stackpole.

Kubaz xirkonia is probably a play on the real-world cubic zirconia, an alternative to diamonds.
