The Kumumgah Rebellion was a rebellion by the Kumumgah against the Infinite Empire on Tatooine, possibly during the Rakatan Civil War, resulting in the Rakata bombarding the planet from orbit, turning the surface of the once lush world into fused glass which eventually crumbled into desert sand. This extreme climate change would lead to the splitting of the Kumumgah species into two separate species: the Jawas and the Ghorfas, the latter of whom would eventually evolve into the Sand People.
