"L'empire du côté obscur" (The dark side empire) is a song by the French hip hop band IAM released as a single for their album L'école du micro d'argent in 1997. It is a tribute to the Star Wars universe in general, with excerpts from the French version of the Return of the Jedi audio drama, including quotes from Darth Vader, Palpatine, Yoda and Leia. The spoken introduction comes from the French version of the audio drama of the 1954 version of 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea. The song has become a rap classic in French-speaking countries.
