Lahsbee/Huhk

Preferring a life of simple playtime, the Lahsbee were diminutive, furry felinoids who shunned technology and modern contrivances.

They also kept items that belonged to, or had a special meaning to dead Lahsbees as a tribute to their deceased friends.

But this only lasted through their childhood. Upon reaching puberty and stress, the Lahsbee turned into mindless savages called Huhks. Music was the only nonviolent means of subduing a Huhk. The Huhks lived in cities, apart from the Lahsbees, because they would otherwise attack their younger cousins.

Lahsbee were genetic cousins of the Dazouri, who exhibited similar polymorphic abilities.

During the reign of the Galactic Empire, a rebel pilot crash-landed on Lahsbane, and Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia Organa, Lando Calrissian, Chewbacca, R2-D2 and C-3PO went to the planet in search of special tapes the rebel possessed. The Lahsbees kept the tapes in one of their cities, and they had to recover them from that Huhk-overrun city.

The Lahsbee were known to occasionally visit Kabray^[1] and Zeltros^[2]

The Huhk should not be confused with the Houk or the Huk.

Initial designs for the Lahsbees were changed after a directive from Lucasfilm claimed they too closely resembled the Ewoks in the then yet-to-be-released Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi. As a result, the Lahsbees were given a more feline appearance and a slight change in their form of dress.^[source?]

It is likely that the Huhk, who transform into a physically powerful yet stupid form under stress, were an homage to one of Marvel Comics' most recognized characters, The Hulk.

The language of the Lahsbees was written as '(((((' in the Marvel comics.

In the Marvel comics, Lahsbees had either blue or pink hair color; it might be that the color of their hair had to do with their gender (blue Lahsbees being male, pink Lahsbees being female) though this has not been confirmed. It is notable, however, that pink Lahsbees typically had longer hair then the blue variation.
