A landing claw was a magnetic or mechanical gripping device found on starships throughout the galaxy that adhered to almost any surface. Landing claws were used when ships needed to secure themselves to areas that would not normally be considered as appropriate landing zones including, for instance, the command tower of an Imperial-class Star Destroyer.

The Millennium Falcon was equipped with such a device.
