Langoona was a remote world in Hutt Space that was home to the sapient Langoonans. The species specialized in the making of death-masks. The Langoonans were enslaved by the Hutt Empire and gradually became a favored slave species. However, they rebelled against the Hutts but were crushed and large numbers of Langoonans were slaughtered.

In retaliation, the Hutts stripped the world of all technology and reduced the surviving Langoonans to a primeval existence. Langoona was also turned into a safari world where the Langoonans were hunted and killed in staged hunts.
