A larynx was a part of a Human's anatomy, located in the throat. Each Human had only a single larynx. When an individual was Force choked, damage was sometimes done to the larynx, which could be fatal. This happened to Padmé Amidala in 19 BBY when Darth Vader used the Force to strangle her.
