A laserball was a type of toy children played with. It gave off a strange orange light, and bounced quite high. It was harmless and not a weapon.

The Young shot laserballs out of slingshots on Melida/Daan. Although they only stung on impact, these laserballs would make a loud sound like blaster fire upon hitting a solid surface.
