Latoprene was a substance, derived from sophisticated plastics, that was used on droids to camouflage their metallic surface and allow them to "appear" organic in nature. Clothing could then be placed over the simulated skin, increasing the deception.

In 15 BBY,^[1] Ottdefa Osuno Whett applied latoprene to Vuffi Raa's torso, in an attempt to deceive the government of Mathilde on Renatasia III .
