Leevan Tenza was a laconic and defiant Sabat male who served in a unit under General Jan Dodonna in the rebellion prior to the Galactic Civil War. In the year 5 BBY, Tenza was taken into custody by the Rebels after preemptively engaging an Imperial target. Instead of declaring his innocence, Tenza, who was facing a court-martial for his actions, escaped from custody and joined up with the Partisans of rebel leader Saw Gerrera. In the year 0 BBY, he and the rest of the partisans were based in the Catacombs of Cadera on the moon Jedha. Shortly after capturing a group including Gerrera's adoptive daughter Jyn Erso, the partisans were forced to evacuate the catacombs after the Empire's Death Star superweapon destroyed the nearby Jedha City, creating a blast wave that ultimately destroyed the catacombs as well. Tenza carried a DH-447 sniper rifle while on Jedha and regularly chewed on a toothpick.
