Leslie Schofield portrayed Chief Bast in Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope; footage of Schofield cut from A New Hope was used in The Star Wars Holiday Special, though Bast's death on the Death Star indicate this was a different officer.

In 1969 and 1977, he appeared in the sci-fi series Doctor Who in the stories The War Games and The Face of Evil.
