Lianna was an alias used by Mara Jade. She was introduced to then-Admiral Thrawn by Emperor Palpatine as one of his favorite dancers at a public dedication of the new Assemblage wing of the Imperial Palace. Later in the day, at a private ceremony (Thrawn's ceremony of promotion to the rank of Grand Admiral) Palpatine revealed her true identity as Mara Jade, an Emperor's Hand.
