The
light-shield of the
Jedi was often used by young Jedi in training, as well as several full-fledged
Jedi Knights. It used the same principles as the
lightsaber, and could deflect both lightsabers and
blaster bolts. It was built in the shape of an arm
bracer and was worn on the arm opposite the lightsaber arm. When activated, the shield instantaneously formed.
When it was in use, the energy shield looked like a glowing semi-transparent buckler which was projected from a spherical node on the bracer. Some models could be adjusted to varying size, anywhere from 0.3 meters to 1.1 meters in diameter. Some Jedi were also known to have created light-shields which could be configured into multiple shape modes, but they could never exceed a surface area of 1.5 meters.
