Lightning gloves were a rare type of glove in use^[1] during a series of conflicts known as the Dark Wars^[2] that were fought between the remnants of the Sith Empire and the Galactic Republic after the Jedi Civil War. During the period, the lightning gloves sold for 29,600.^[1] The gloves generated powerful pulses of electricity when they made contact with an object, which was an advantage to the wearer during unarmed combat. They also provided the user with considerable protection against electricity. The gloves' outsides were a light blue color, and their insides were dark brown.^[1]

Behind the scenesEdit

The lightning gloves first appeared in Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords, a video game by Obsidian Entertainment,^[1] which was released on Xbox on December 6, 2004,^[3] and on PC on February 8, 2005.^[4] In The Sith Lords, the gloves were rare and could be found at randomly determined locations throughout the game; thus they were not guaranteed to be found every time through the game. The weapons granted a very large electrical damage bonus and a small attack bonus to unarmed attacks, as well as a large reduction in damage taken from electricity.^[1] They received an entry in Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords: Prima Official Game Guide by Prima Games.^[5]
