Lightning spires were used by the Sith Empire of Dromund Kaas to protect their cities, equipment and personnel from lightning strikes, which constantly ravaged the planet's surface. Designed by former commander in the Imperial Reclamation Service Renigus Wight, the spires towered above the jungles of Dromund Kaas and not only attracted the deadly lightning strikes away from the ground, but also harnessed their energy to power their cities.[1]
