Liyn was an Intelligence Commander serving the Imperial Remnant during the Second Galactic Civil War. During the Second Battle of Fondor, Liyn died aboard the Turbulent-class Star Destroyer Bloodfin when the ship's crew mutinied against the Moffs, who decided to side with Darth Caedus after Grand Admiral Gilad Pellaeon's death.

Lieutenant Lydea Pagorski would later claim that she and Liyn were in love, and that Liyn confided in her that former Jedi Tahiri Veila was among the individuals who attended the conference aboard the Bloodfin, shortly before the battle at Fondor.
