A locking activator was a specialized activation stud located on the hilt of a lightsaber that could lock the weapon's blade into the activated position, even when the wielder was not holding the lightsaber. This was utilized by Jax Pavan in 18.8 BBY during his encounter with Xizor. Aurra Sing's lightsaber also had this device.
