- "Welcome to Lotho Minor, kids. If there's any one place where the galaxy's trash finally comes to rest, it's Lotho."
- ―Han Solo
Lotho Minor, known more commonly as the Junk World, was a planet in the Outer Rim Territories where nearby worlds dumped trash and junk. It was where the former Sith Lord Darth Maul resided after his duel with Qui-Gon Jinn and Obi-Wan Kenobi on Naboo in 32 BBY.
Description
- "The cargo you just dropped off. What planet did it come from?"
"The junk fields, on planet Lotho Minor." - ―Savage Opress and a cargo hauler
Lotho Minor was a world that largely was comprised of junk from other worlds. The atmosphere was capable of producing acid rainstorms.[4]
History
Mother Talzin, the leader of the Nightsisters, had reason to believe that Darth Maul was alive and in exile somewhere in the Outer Rim Territories. Around 21 BBY, over ten years after Maul's defeat, she gave a special necklace to his brother, Savage Opress, to find Maul again. Opress left, promising Talzin that he would return. Indeed, Maul survived his ordeal on Naboo and returned to prominence during the Clone Wars, living on the planet Lotho Minor in a state of near-madness, his memories lost to him. Nevertheless, he acquired a six-legged cybernetic apparatus to replace his lost lower body. He had his residence in an underground cave, which he shared with an Anacondan named Morley. Eventually, Opress found Maul, and the former Sith Lord was brought back to Dathomir to be treated by Mother Talzin.
