"What begins, ends.
What is born, dies.
All that is made can be un-made.
Dark has no meaning without light,
And for all living things
there is the final
silence.
"
―"Life's Memories," published in Lyrical Metaphysics: Ode on an Odon[1]

Lyrical Metaphysics: Ode on an Odon was an anthology that was edited by the Ithorian Soshu Londahl and published by Coruscani Publishing. "Life's Memories," a poem written in the Ithorian language, was translated into Basic by Londahl and included in the anthology. Because the poem discussed the nature of death, it was later quoted in an academic pager, also called Life's Memories, that also discussed death. The paper, written by San Herrera and Nia Reston, contained a footnote that stated that the poem had originally appeared in Lyrical Metaphysics: Ode to an Odon and listed its publisher and editor.[1]

Behind the scenes[]

Lyrical Metaphysics: Ode to an Odon was mentioned in "Life's Memories," an article that tied into the roleplaying adventure Excursion and was written by Morrie Mullins and published on Wizards.com on July 3, 2003 as part of Wizards of the Coast's Living Force Campaign.[1]
