The MEC trooper was a heavily armed and armored specialized class of clone trooper variants deployed during the Clone Wars.[1]

The MEC class included clone commandos, Galactic Marines and clone paratroopers. All of the variants included in the MEC class were some of the most well-trained fighting units in the Grand Army of the Republic.[1]

MEC troopers have appeared in both Star Wars Battlefront: Renegade Squadron and Star Wars Battlefront: Elite Squadron, where the customization feature allows the player to create a clone trooper with an exaggeratedly large body named a MEC trooper. With this body, the player is given three options for the head, clone commander Bacara's helmet, a clone paratrooper's helmet, or a clone commando's helmet. No other information is given for this type of clone trooper, including what the acronym "MEC" stands for.[1]
