Magma pebbles were a Yuuzhan Vong weapon.

Magma pebbles were used instead of amphistaffs against droids and armor. They were one of the very few non-living weapons employed by the Yuuzhan Vong.

These weapons were little more than a crust of rock surrounding a coating of magma, similar to the projectiles fired by Yaret-Kor cannons. When thrown like a grenade, the shell would burst, spewing magma over the target. They were effective against anything from armored infantry to light vehicles.
