The Magnetic Bombard was an Electromagnetic pulse weapon developed by the Galactic Empire for orbital bombardment.

CharacteristicsEdit

The Magnetic Bombard created a magnetic pulse that could be used to short out computers, Droids, and other advanced technology. Originally, magnepulse blasts were delivered by cannon fire from ships of Cruiser-class or larger, however this method was susceptible to the blast being redirected back at the attack ship. This lead to the creation of a weapon that could deliver the same effect in the form of a cluster bomb.

Because the bombard was vulnerable to being shot down, it was designed with thrusters, Deflector shields, and computers for evasive maneuvering. While expensive, the weapon could be launched by any craft able to carry TIE Fighters and could knock out the technological systems of an entire city.
