Magnetic pulse

The Magnetic pulse, or Mag pulse for short (both are short for electromagnetic pulse), was a highly specialized warhead. It disabled a craft's weapons system upon impact, leaving it vulnerable. Magnetic pulse warheads were developed by Galactic Electronics in the Corporate Sector for the Rebel Alliance after the Battle of Hoth. Its capabilities relied on a highly concentrated magnetic core. Once fired on an enemy ship's subsystems, that ship was drained of most of its power, leaving it operating at only 25% efficiency.
