The Magus were large frog-like creatures native to the equatorial deserts on the planet Reopi. When fully extended, they measured 60 centimeters in length. Magus' feet were webbed, allowing them excellent traction on the sands of the desert world. This also allowed them to burrow into the sand in order to escape the intense heat of the sun during daylight hours. To further protect them from the heat during the day, Magus possessed an incredibly tough hide. Unfortunately, this same protection made them hunted, as their skin was used to make durable material, which would be sold on other worlds. When feeling threatened, the Magus could secrete a noxious chemical through pores in the skin.
