A4-G2

A4-G2, a G2 repair droid

"Maintenance droids are such useful things to have around."
Talon Karrde[src]

Maintenance droids, also known as repair droids, were droids that performed simple to complex cleaning, repair, and general maintenance tasks. A pit droid was a type of repair droid that maintained podracer vehicles.[1] The T3-series utility droid, BLX labor droid, WED Treadwell repair droid, the MSE-series droid, and astromech droids such as the R-series were used as repair droids.[2]

R2-D2 was an astromech droid aboard a Naboo star cruiser, was rewarded for emergency maintenance on the ship's deflector shields, and the only repair droid to survive the task.[3]
