Mamiens were large mammalian creatures native to Yavin 4. Mamiens had something of a hierarchy, consisting of elders, junglelords, and matriarchs. Ancient mamiens were another variety. The creatures possessed a wooly hide.

While Star Wars: Empire 15: Darklighter, Part 4 depicts the Mamien as very ferocious creature that attacks Biggs Darklighter unprovoked, the mamiens in Star Wars Galaxies were rather docile and non-aggressive.
