Warning: This infobox is missing the following parameters: otherlife Manaan was an ocean planet[2] located in the galaxy's Inner Rim, in grid square O-11 on the Standard Galactic Grid.[1] It was homeworld of the sentient Selkath species,[2] which had been historically devoted to the care of their native oceans. The Selkath bounty hunters Mantu[3] and Chata Hyoki hailed from Manaan.[4]
Behind the scenes
Manaan was first mentioned in the new Star Wars canon in Mantu's entry in the now-discontinued Encyclopedia on StarWars.com,[5] which was carried over to its replacement, the Databank.[3] It was originally created for Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, a Star Wars Legends roleplaying game developed by BioWare[6] and released on July 15, 2003.[7]
On February 19, 2016, a Star Wars-inspired compilation album titled Star Wars Headspace was released, and it featured a track named "Sunset Over Manaan," which was recorded by the house producer ATTLAS.[8]
