"So this is home, huh? Very quaint."
"Quaint, is it? An' I suppose you live in a grand palace these days, all made out o' pink marble an' finery?"
Leia Organa and Fenn Shysa[src]

The Mandalorian forest encampment was the headquarters of the Mandalorian resistance to the Empire during the Galactic Civil War.

Characteristics

The camp was carved into the deepest part of the Mandalorian woods, in order to maintain a type of privacy and protection. Rooms and stairs were carved into the largest trees, allowing the soldiers under Fenn Shysa's command a permanent place to sleep. In the center of the camp was a large fire pit which the soldiers would gather around following raids. Shysa provided first aid to those living at the camp, helping the wounded and setting broken bones.

Besides the general living necessities, the camp was decorated with large wooden sculptures of unknown origin and design. Whether these were elements from Mandalorian mythology or stylized beasts is unknown. Those protecting the camp sometimes wore makeshift armor due to a shortage in supplies. Only Shysa and Dala were equipped with traditional Mandalorian armor. Sentries were known to use simple spears and shields instead of more modern weaponry.

History

The camp was founded by Mandalore Fenn Shysa and Tobbi Dala at some point following the Clone Wars. Besides acting as a base of operations and staging points for raids against Imperial slavers, the camp served as a living space for all the soldiers serving under Shysa's command.

After expelling the Imperials from their world in 3 ABY following the death of the Suprema, the forest encampment was likely abandoned as the Mandalorians retook the capital city of Keldabe.
