Mantooine was a planet in the Atrivis sector where an Imperial garrison was based. In 14 AFE, a resistance group known as the Liberators managed to seize the garrison but were soon defeated by the Imperial Navy in the same year.[1]

Despite the Imperial victory, Mantooine would soon serve as an Alliance to Restore the Republic regional headquarters and operations sector during the early rebellion against the Galactic Empire. Mantooine was included in a map of the galaxy that listed safe worlds, starfighter hubs at level five or higher, regional headquarters and operations sectors, and deep space caches. The map was then incorporated into The Rebel Files. During the early rebellion, the Alliance to Restore the Republic used the UT-60D U-wing starfighter/support craft as a troop transport on Mantooine, which was noted in a report from General Antoc Merrick to Commander-in-Chief Mon Mothma. That report would also be included in The Rebel Files.[1]

After The Rebel Files were rediscovered on Durkteel[1] in 34 ABY[2] and handed to the Resistance, Major Caluan Ematt and General Leia Organa wrote annotations.[1]

Behind the scenesEdit

Mantooine was first mentioned in Star Wars: The Rebel Files, a canon 2017 boxed set and reference book by Daniel Wallace.[1]

  2. Since The Rebel Files were buried on the same day as the Battle of Endor, which according to Star Wars: Galactic Atlas takes place in 4 ABY, and because Star Wars: The Rebel Files establishes that The Rebel Files were rediscovered 30 years after the battle, it can be determined that The Rebel Files were uncovered in 34 ABY.
